Mark Radcliffe: Bio

Mark Radcliffe

Growing up in New England as the son of a doctor and a science teacher, Mark didn’t even pick up a guitar until he was 17. An early obsession with shredders like Van Halen and Joe Satriani taught him his way around a whammy bar, but it would be years before he would begin singing, let alone writing his own material.

He spent his youth focused on sports, mostly ski racing and bike racing. In college, he played in various blues/ rock bands, but, as an English major, spent more time on his fiction. Once out of college, he became an English teacher at a private boarding school, then an actor, and finally an advertising copywriter before devoting himself more to his music.

Finally, after years of playing too many covers in random bars, he began crafting the songs that would become All I Can Remember, his debut CD recorded at AudioWells in Portland, Oregon and released in early 2007. Years of living in various cities like Boston, New York City, Atlanta, Portland, LA and Seattle gave him plenty to write about, resulting in songs that blend percussive, melodic guitar playing with lyrics about conflicted relationships and the quest for personal integrity. The influences of Martin Sexton, Ian Moore, Neil Finn, the Indigo Girls, and even Satriani can be felt throughout the album.

Mark is currently living in Los Angeles, and will be posting new performance dates soon.
